Angeles National Forest
When you think of Los Angeles, you probably don't think of beautiful snowcapped mountains or evergreen trees...but maybe you should. Los Angeles is known for it's celebrities, ghettos, and gang shootings. Like most people, Los Angeles does not sound like a very pleasant place to visit to me. But just minutes outside of the city, there is the Angeles National Forest. There you can camp, picnic, off-road, hike, or just go for a beautiful scenic drive. Warnings I have for those who visit here: watch out for squirrels and birds in roads, watch for falling rocks, make sure you have gas and food because there is nothing but wilderness for 60 miles here-- no towns, no gas, very few phones, very few people.

Foothill Ranch, CA
A little town in Southern California that has some of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Located in the foothills, this town has a lot to offer. From here, you can see all the way to the ocean on a clear day. There are also plenty of little shops as well as large ones, that you can pass the time in on cloudy days. There is a park located up Bake Pkwy. that offers a gorgeous view of everything. Best place to eat: Chili's. Warnings: if you don't like kids, you may not want to visit here because there are tons of children everywhere.
